Utah Beach Looking West D-Day Morning
June 6, 1944

Below are relics I've found or acquired from around the D-Day landing Beaches, mostly found around the Utah beach area were the 4th Infantry landed on D-Day morning, and also items around Drop Zone "D" area in Angoville , which was the 101st Airborne Divisions Drop Zone, 1st and 2nd battalion of 501st PIR, the 3rd battalion of 506th PIR and the 326th Airborne Engineer Battalion.

An Amazing WW2 U.S 40mm Round/Shell Found in the Normandy Omaha Beach

This shell case is amazing almost a work of art, with sand compacted in the bottom and covered in barnacles, if only it could tell a story, it more than likely was fire from one of the ships or LST's towards Omaha beach on the 06/06/1944 D-Day, this was found in the waters around Omaha Beach.

WW2 life preserver, found in Normandy, Utah Beach.

Supplied by the U.S. Navy, the M1926 life belt was issued to soldiers participating in Operation Overlord. The belt could be inflated using two CO2 cartridges, or manually via two valves.

US 81mm mortar round found in the German positions in 1972....On OMAHA BEACH... a very nice relic from D DAY Landing beaches ....Would be impossible to obtain now because the German positions have no access on the land

Found on a JU52 crash site near Aalborg, Denmark. You can see where the rounds have exploded and blown the canisters

  

 


WW2 Relic Early First Pattern Luftwaffe Dagger maker WMW

Early First Pattern Luftwaffe Dagger, A scarce early dagger that's in relic condition, the worst part is the blade, this is quite heavily rusted, you can just make out WMW and Waffen stamped across, the grip and cross guard are not that bad.

WW2 US dated 1942 20mm round Found Utah Beach Normandy

The round is marked with an Anchor markings are A.G-1942 MK2 LST and what looks like NFB?, Found with the 7 WW2 US time delay fuses below, lying together at the side of a German casemate.

These fuses were found with the above round A.G-1942 MK2 LST lying together at the side of a German casemate in the sand dunes of Utah beach.

You can still see the coloured bands indicated the time delay before acid corroded a wire, releasing a striker that struck a percussion cap and a detonator, There were different colours White, Red, Green, Blue. pictured with an original unused one.

Dummy/Blank round Film Prop find from "The Longest Day" ?

This is a really interesting find, found on Utah beach a Dummy/Blank firing round unfired, the round is dated 1962, Utah beach was one of the beach's used for filming "The Longest Day" in 1962, so is this a film prop from one of the greatest war films made? quite possible.

     


WW2 Relic German canteen dated 1939 found in the Ardennes

Found in the Ardennes near to Krinkelt/Rocherath villages in the woods defended by US 99th Inf. has a makers mark and date on the neck  for 1939.
